Simply Focused ("the Extension") is developed by Cortex Lab AI. This policy explains what data the Extension collects, how it is used, and how it is protected.

1. What Data We Collect

The Extension collects only the data necessary to provide AI-powered definitions and explanations:

2. What We Do NOT Collect

• Names, email addresses, or account information
• Passwords, credentials, or authentication tokens
• Financial or payment information
• Health information
• Precise location or GPS data
• Browsing history or browsing patterns
• Cookies or device identifiers
• Keystroke logging or mouse tracking

3. How Data Is Processed

When you highlight text, the Extension sends your selection and its surrounding context to the following services to generate a response:

All API requests are routed through our secure Cloudflare Worker proxy. Your data is transmitted over HTTPS and is not logged or stored on the proxy beyond the duration of the request.

4. Sensitive Content Protection

The Extension includes multiple layers of protection to prevent sensitive data from being transmitted:

• Site blocklist: The Extension automatically disables itself on banking sites, email providers, password managers, government portals, and other sensitive websites.
• Content scanning: Before any data is sent, the Extension scans for API keys, private keys, passwords, credit card numbers, Social Security numbers, and JWT tokens. If detected, the request is blocked entirely.
• User consent: The Extension does not activate until you explicitly accept this privacy policy through the in-extension consent prompt.

5. Data Storage

The Extension stores minimal data locally in your browser:

• Privacy consent status — persisted locally so you are not asked repeatedly.
• Current session context — stored in session storage and cleared when the sidebar closes or the browser restarts.

No chat history, explanations, or personal data are persisted after your session ends.

6. Data Sharing and Sale

We do not sell, rent, or transfer your data to third parties for advertising, marketing, or any purpose unrelated to the Extension's core functionality. Data is shared only with the third-party services listed in Section 3, solely to provide the features you use.

7. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data through the Extension, please contact us so we can remove it.

8. Your Rights

• Revoke consent: You can revoke your privacy consent at any time through the Extension's popup menu. This will disable all data collection.
• Uninstall: Removing the Extension deletes all locally stored data.
• Data deletion: To request deletion of any feedback you submitted, contact us at the email below.

9. Security

We protect your data through:

• HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
• Origin validation and authentication tokens on our API proxy
• Content Security Policy restricting script execution
• Rate limiting to prevent abuse

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
